Have you heard of Mya-Rose Craig who blogs at www.birdgirluk.com & has 4.5 million views? If not, look her up, as she is one of a kind; a free-thinking, challenging, fearless, extremely knowledgeable young #conservationist, #environmentalist #activist campaigning on stopping biodiversity loss & climate breakdown as well as on equality, diversity & inclusion, highlighting the unfair treatment of indigenous peoples by the conservation sector and fighting the institutionalised racism within nature, conservation, environmental, nature/environmental higher education and wildlife film-making sectors. In February 2020, she became the youngest person to be awarded an honorary Doctor of Science. However, the sector fails to recognise her achievements & tries to undermine her. A really interesting article. The other challenge will be convincing factories in places like Bangladesh to diversify. At the moment, Bangladesh imports all its saris from India, at significantly higher prices then we can buy in the UK. If they can reduce their carbon footprint by making clothing for the local market, this can only by good
