How to upgrade to small town Manor Lords? ›

To upgrade your town or settlement level in Manor Lords, you must look at the number of required Burgage Plots that belong to a particular tier. This can be seen when you mouse over your settlement's name at the top of the screen: Each settlement level has a required number of tiers for Burgage Plots.

To claim a new area in Manor Lords you must zoom out to the region view, click on the unclaimed region you wish to claim, and use one of the two options at the bottom of the screen. To claim a new area, you must have at least 1000 Manor Lords influence, or King's Favor.

How to Increase Your Settlement Level in Manor Lords. To increase your settlement level, you must construct Burgage Plots and, upon meeting their requirements, upgrade each homestead. Every Burgage Plot requires a few key necessities: Water Access.

How to Increase Population in Manor Lords. Pulling in new families to your settlement in Manor Lords relies on two key factors: available Burgage Plots and a high approval rating. If you have both, then you'll find your population begins to grow exponentially to match the available housing.

To increase your Manor Lords population, you must have an approval rating above 50% and have an empty Manor Lords burgage plot for a family to move in. Each month, depending on your approval rating, at least one family will move to your settlement, assuming you have room to house them.

For your region to flourish, you will almost certainly need to engage in trade to sell surplus goods and solve your resource shortages. Selling off goods at the Trading Post will earn you Regional Wealth that can be spent on Burgage Plot upgrades or importing other resources.

Trapping is a great early-game Development Point upgrade, and usually the first thing I research after unlocking Better Deals. Just like Deep Mining, it basically turns a finite resource (Meat from Wild Animal deposits) into an infinite resource (Meat from traps anywhere in the forest).
