One of the most profitable horror movies ever made, this tale of an exorcism is based loosely on actual events. A local priest (Jason Miller), however, thinks the girl may be seized by the devil. Dione R Theatre didn't have the correct movie downloaded, never got to actually see the movie!! Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/23/23 Full Review Bert V The Exorcist is, hands-down, the best horror movie that I've ever seen. It is my favorite horror movie and is in my top five favorite movies of all time. Not only is the film a gripping horror thriller, it is a psychological thriller in equal parts and an intense drama as well. It has the perfect cast, a director who knew how to bring it to life, and special effects that - even to this day - hold up. Those that complain of it being drawn out and slow are missing the makings of solid movies. The Exorcist was made back when movies got you emotionally invested in its characters which ultimately heightened the level of its horror and drama. With today's quick jump scares and lack of character development, it's easy to see why newer viewers might not have the patience to let the film weave its spell and leave a lasting impression on the viewer. I've recently watched "reaction videos" on YouTube, done by younger viewers, and the majority all agreed that it is a masterpiece. If you've never seen the film, grab a copy, curl up on the couch, and let it show you what real movie making is about. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/16/24 Full Review Audience Member Watched it because of its fame and because it was a horror classic. I just want to say to the people in the audience reviews that, just because it’s a classic, doesn’t mean it’s good. We got so much excessive information and scenes, very slow paced and not scary. Was kind of let down by this because I had high expectations of this so called “best horror movie of all time”. Got to say that the film work was good though. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/05/24 Full Review Connor K Watched it because it's The Exorcist, a timeless classic, but found myself very bored. Might be because I grew up with Annabelle and The Conjuring, but I just found the scares to be flat. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/03/24 Full Review Shane C It's The Exorcist, of course it gets 5 stars. It's scary, shocking and a Terrifyingly good time. Hat's off to Linda Blair and the rest of the cast and crew!
